I have been a certified doula since 2007. I gained my certification through the ChildBirth International, a well established and highly respected childbirth education provider. I was drawn to becoming a doula when I was pregnant with my daughters, at the time I had no idea what a doula was, but once I learnt more  I was determined complete my certification and offer my support to women, because supporting and encouraging pregnant women was something I had a passion for. I have supported many women during their births; first time mothers, VBAC, HBAC, mature age mothers, single mums and twin births.

 

A doula provides emotional, physical, and educational support to pregnant women and their partners. The main purpose of a doula is to help women have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience.
